Are you a teen (11-16 years old) who is interested in spending a month in Cancun Mexico, meeting new people, making new friends, becoming a world traveler and learning / practicing Spanish?
Each July I take selected participants to live in Cancun, Mexico. We learn about other cultures, language and people. We rent a home in a local neighborhood, attend Spanish & art classes, explore Mayan ruins, visit Isla Mujeres, play in the Caribbean sea, swim in Cenotes, zip line, eat delicious food, practice yoga, snorkel with sea turtles and volunteer at an orphanage and government run school and work in the kitchen to prepare Mexican meals with a fabulous cook.
Program Fee: $3900.00 ($3700.00 if deposit is paid by May 15, 2014)
INCLUDES: AIRFARE, HOUSING, ALL MEALS, Spanish, yoga, art classes and visiting several local attractions (Chichen Itza or Tulum ruins). Additional spending money may be needed to buy personal items (such as souvenirs, snacks, etc).
My goal is that each participant will return with a broader understanding of gratitude, poverty, comfort zones and a stronger sense of ‘we’.
Each participant is required to have a valid U.S passport and travel insurance. There are also coordinators who currently resides in Cancun.
A little about me…. I began traveling as a young teenager. I’ve backpacked through Europe, driven cross country several times and lived in Cuernavaca and Guanajuato Mexico. Our family has backpacked central Mexico for three months and last summer, we drove through Mexico to Guatemala where we lived and taught English. I love to travel and explore the world with my children. I look forward to sharing these amazing learning experiences with your children!
